Our professional edge-to-edge longarm quilting service adds beautiful texture and dimension to your quilt while securing all three layers together for a finished quilt that can finally be used, gifted, displayed, and loved.
Whether this is your very first quilt, a special gift, or one of those finished tops that has been waiting patiently in your UFO pile, we’ll treat your work with the care it deserves.
Mail-in quilts are welcome from anywhere in the U.S.
❤️ Longarm Quilting — $0.02 Per Square Inch
Your quilting price is based on the size of your quilt top.
Width × Length = Total Square Inches
Total Square Inches × $0.02 = Quilting Cost
Example:
65" × 80" = 5,200 square inches
5,200 × $0.02 = $104.00
✨ What's Included
Your longarm quilting service includes professional edge-to-edge quilting, your selected quilting design/pantograph, Glide thread, inspection of your quilt top and backing upon arrival, and careful handling throughout the quilting process.
Hobbs 80/20 Cotton/Polyester batting is also available.
🧵 How to Order
1. Measure your quilt top.
Measure the width and length in inches.
2. Calculate the square inches.
Width × Length = total square inches.
3. Select your edge-to-edge quilting design.
4. Choose your thread color.
We currently quilt with Glide thread.
5. Select shipping or local drop-off/pickup.
6. Place your order.
Once your order is placed, prepare your quilt top and backing and send them to Johnson Heirloom.

When shipping your quilt, we strongly recommend using a shipping service that provides tracking.
Include your name and order number inside your package so we can easily match your quilt with your order.
✂️ Preparing Your Quilt for Longarm Quilting
Your quilt top should arrive completely pieced and ready to load onto the longarm.
Please make sure your quilt top is clean and pressed, loose threads are trimmed, seams are secure, and there are no stains, incomplete seams, or popped stitches.
Do not baste or sandwich your quilt. Send the quilt top and backing separately.
📏 Backing Requirements
Your backing must be at least 8" wider AND 8" longer than your quilt top.
That provides approximately 4" of additional backing on every side for loading onto the longarm.
For example:
60" × 70" quilt top
Minimum backing size: 68" × 78"
If your backing needs to be pieced, please piece and press it before sending it unless other arrangements have been made.
❤️ When Your Quilt Arrives
We inspect your quilt top and backing before loading them onto the longarm.
If we discover an issue that needs to be corrected before quilting—such as an open seam, damaged area, or backing that is too small—we'll contact you before proceeding.
Additional preparation or repair work may result in an additional charge and could extend the completion time.
⏰ Current Turnaround
Our current processing time for longarm quilting is approximately 14 business days after your quilt top, backing, and all required materials are received and ready for quilting.
Weekends, holidays, shipping/transit time, and any additional preparation or repair work are not included in the turnaround estimate.
📐 Maximum Quilt Width
Due to the size of our longarm frame, the maximum quilting width is 105 inches.
