👶 Made From YOUR Baby's Clothing

You provide the clothing, and Johnson Heirloom carefully transforms those tiny outfits into approximately 6" × 6" memory squares.

Your quilt can include:

Onesies • Bodysuits • T-Shirts • Pajamas • Sleepers • Dresses • Rompers • Receiving Blankets • Special Outfits • Other Baby Clothing

Whenever possible, we'll feature the most recognizable and meaningful portions of each garment—favorite prints, sayings, embroidered details, pockets, appliqués, and other special features.

Because we're working with your child's actual clothing, every quilt is completely one of a kind.

🧺 Clothing Requirement

A minimum of 60 baby onesies/outfits is required for this quilt.

Baby clothing is much smaller than adult clothing, and not every garment provides a full usable 6" square after seam allowances, stabilization, and design placement are considered. Providing at least 60 pieces gives us enough material and flexibility to create a balanced large lap/throw-size quilt.

Please send clothing intact—do not pre-cut the garments.

If you have more than 60 pieces, you're welcome to send additional clothing so we have more options when selecting the best portions for your quilt.

✂️ From Tiny Clothes to 6" Memory Squares

Each selected garment is carefully inspected, prepared, stabilized when necessary, and cut into approximately 6" squares.

Different fabrics behave differently—especially stretchy onesies and knit baby clothes—so proper preparation is important to create a quilt that lays beautifully and will hold up for years to come.

The finished squares are then thoughtfully arranged to create a balanced mix of colors, prints, memories, and special details.

🧵 Personalized With Your Child's Name

The finishing touch makes this quilt unmistakably theirs.

Your child's name will be appliquéd toward the bottom-right corner of the quilt in approximately 3"–4" lettering, creating a beautiful personalized feature without taking attention away from the clothing itself.

Lettering fabric and placement will be selected to coordinate with the overall quilt design.

📏 Finished Quilt Size

This keepsake is designed as a Large Lap/Throw Size Memory Quilt, making it large enough to cuddle under while still being beautiful displayed across a bed, chair, quilt ladder, or nursery furniture.

Final dimensions may vary slightly depending on the clothing provided, layout, borders, and construction requirements.

1. Place your order.
Provide your child's name and any important information about the clothing you'd like us to know.

2. Gather at least 60 baby onesies/outfits.
Please leave all clothing intact.

3. Send your clothing to Johnson Heirloom.
You'll receive instructions for shipping your clothing after your order is placed.

4. We create your heirloom.
Your clothing is carefully prepared and transformed into approximately 6" squares, arranged into a custom layout, professionally pieced, quilted, personalized with your child's appliquéd name, and finished with binding.

5. Your memories come home as a quilt. ❤️

⚠️ Important Information About Your Clothing

Creating your memory quilt requires the garments you provide to be permanently cut.

Please do not send anything you aren't comfortable having cut and incorporated into the quilt.

If a garment contains a special area you want included—or an area you do not want cut—please clearly identify it before production begins.

Due to the custom nature of memory quilts and variations in individual garments, the exact placement of fabrics and designs will be determined during the design process.
