This Beef & Broccoli is a quick, flavorful skillet meal with tender slices of beef, crisp broccoli, and a savory garlic soy sauce. Served over fluffy jasmine rice, it’s a better-than-takeout dinner ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients
For the stir fry

1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced

2 cups broccoli florets

1 tablespoon olive oil or sesame oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon grated ginger (optional)
For the sauce

½ cup soy sauce

¼ cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon cornstarch

½ cup beef broth or water
For serving

2 cups cooked jasmine rice

Sesame seeds (optional)

Sliced green onions (optional)
Instructions
1. Cook the rice
Prepare jasmine rice according to package directions and set aside.
2. Cook the beef
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced beef and cook for 3–4 minutes until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
3. Cook the broccoli
In the same skillet, add broccoli and cook for 3–4 minutes until tender-crisp. Add a splash of water if needed to help steam.
4. Add garlic and ginger
Stir in garlic and ginger and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
5. Make the sauce
In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, and beef broth.
6. Combine
Return the beef to the skillet. Pour in the sauce and stir well. Cook for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats everything.
7. Serve
Serve hot over jasmine rice. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
