Serves

3–4 people

Ingredients

For the pasta

  • 8–10 oz pasta (spaghetti or linguine)
  • Water and salt for boiling

For the shrimp

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

For the sauce

  • ¼ cup chicken broth or pasta water
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

1. Cook the pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain, reserving ½ cup pasta water.

2. Cook the shrimp

In a large skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium heat.
Add shrimp, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

3. Make the garlic butter sauce

In the same skillet, add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Pour in chicken broth (or pasta water) and lemon juice. Stir and simmer for 2–3 minutes.

4. Combine

Add cooked pasta and shrimp back into the skillet. Toss to coat.
Sprinkle in parmesan cheese and parsley, mixing until creamy and combined.

5. Serve

Serve warm with extra parmesan and a squeeze of fresh lemon if desired.

Serving Ideas

  • Pair with garlic bread
  • Add a side of steamed broccoli or salad
  • Top with extra parmesan and fresh herbs

Quick Tip

Don’t overcook the shrimp—remove them as soon as they turn pink for the best texture.
