Ingredients

For the pasta

  • 12 oz spaghetti

  • Water and salt for boiling

For the meat sauce

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • Β½ teaspoon salt

  • Β½ teaspoon black pepper

  • Β½ teaspoon sugar (optional, to balance acidity)

For serving

  • Β½ cup grated parmesan cheese

  • Fresh parsley or basil (optional)

Garlic bread

  • 1 loaf French bread

  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon parsley


Instructions

1. Cook the pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

2. Cook the meat

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease if needed.

3. Add onion and garlic

Stir in diced onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.

4. Make the sauce

Pour in marinara sauce. Add Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and sugar if using. Stir well and let simmer for 10–15 minutes.

5. Prepare garlic bread

Preheat oven to 375Β°F. Mix melted butter, garlic, and parsley. Spread over sliced French bread and bake for 8–10 minutesuntil golden.

6. Combine and serve

Serve meat sauce over spaghetti. Top with parmesan cheese and fresh herbs.
