How to Make a Bowl Cozy: A Step-by-Step Sewing Guide

What You’ll Need
Materials

100% cotton fabric (top & bottom)

100% cotton batting

Cotton thread

Pins or clips

Fabric marker

Iron
Step 1: Cut Fabric & Batting


Cut:

(2) fabric squares – 10” x 10”
-
(2) cotton batting squares – 10” x 10”
This size fits most standard bowls.
Step 2: Mark the Darts


On the wrong side of each piece:

Measure 2 inches from each corner

Draw diagonal lines toward the center

You’ll mark 4 darts per piece
Step 3: Sew the Darts

Fold each dart right sides together

Sew along the marked line

Repeat for all fabric and batting pieces

Press darts open
Step 4: Quilt the Layers

Layer one fabric piece with one batting piece

Quilt with straight or diagonal lines
